RonnieAdventure #0704 - Bellagio Conservatory 2025 Christmas Arrangement, Las Vegas, Nevada

"All Aboard for Holiday Bells and Whistles" was the name of the 2025 Christmas arrangement at the Bellagio Conservatory, Las Vegas, Nevada. This year's display contained 110,000 tree lights, 20,000 Poinsettias, 7,500 red and black roses on the nutcracker, 1,000 red feathers on the top of the nutcracker's hat, 41 fresh-cut trees, and 12 gold and silver bells hanging above the north and south beds. The display was completed by 80 workers in 6 days.

Elvie the Elf was the Bellagio Express train engineer as it steamed through the east display bed while one of Santa's elves rode along on top of the coal car. Guests entered the Conservatory along a path that ran through the center of the train.

Poinsettias are always a large part of the Conservatory's Christmas arrangement because of their historical significance.

The legend of the poinsettia originated in Mexico and dates back to the 17th Century. "On Christmas Eve, a young girl named Pepita was saddened because she had no gift to offer the baby Jesus at the Nativity scene. As she walked to the chapel with her cousin Pedro, he encouraged her, saying that even the smallest gift, given with love, would be accepted by Christ. Feeling inspired, Pepita gathered a handful of weeds from the roadside and fashioned them into a simple bouquet. Although she felt embarrassed by her meager offering, she remembered Pedro's words and approached the Nativity scene. As she laid the bouquet at the altar, a miracle occurred: the weeds transformed into vibrant red flowers, which became known as poinsettias. This event symbolized the idea that gifts given with love are precious, regardless of their material value."

Franciscan friars introduced the flower displays at Christmas to northern Mexico, which then spread to the present-day Southwestern United States.

The south bed contained soldiers, a 30-foot-tall Nutcracker, and Billy the Elf riding a white rocking horse that swayed back and forth. Surrounding the Nutcracker were four soldiers who rotated on their pedestals and bells that hung from the ceiling.
